A DAY OUT DURING YOUR DISNEY STAY
By the Magical Lodge team · Information checked 28 October 2026
Versailles adds palatial interiors and garden perspectives to a Disney holiday. It needs some planning: the estate is extensive and a Palace ticket does not necessarily cover every area. From accommodation near Disneyland Paris, make Versailles the focus of a dedicated day rather than a hurried detour between Paris attractions.
Which experience should you choose?
Decide which spaces matter most: the Palace apartments and Hall of Mirrors, gardens, or an itinerary including Trianon. Then compare Palace admission and Passport options against the inclusions for your date. Garden-event days can change access conditions. Palace admission does not guarantee every special performance or additional service is included.
| Option | Who is it for? |
|---|---|
| Palace | For the celebrated indoor rooms. |
| Passport | For a broader visit, according to your date’s inclusions. |
| Gardens and Trianon | For a longer outing with extra distances and specific hours. |

Our suggested approach to the day
For a first visit, we suggest the Palace at the booked time, lunch and a walk adapted to weather and energy. Add Trianon only if you leave it enough time; distances across the estate matter as much as time inside rooms. The Palace closes on Mondays. Individual areas have different opening hours, so check the official calendar before arranging your day.
With children: making the visit comfortable
With children, alternate indoor rooms and outdoor time. Comfortable footwear matters more than a schedule planned minute by minute. Bring rain protection or sun protection as appropriate and check rules for pushchairs, bags and the areas being visited. Travellers who find walking difficult should ask about available assistance and whether it requires a separate booking.
Getting there from Disneyland Paris
Versailles is west of Paris while Disneyland Paris is east. Compare the entire journey, connections and return rather than a travel time between two central stations. Use KS Transport’s Versailles City Tour page for a private driver outing. Provide reserved admission times, child-seat requirements and the intended route. Transport, admission and any guide are separate bookings.
